LAHORE, July 9: Junior hockey team’s manager-cum-chief coach Jahangir Butt has said his side is fully prepared to win the Junior Asia Cup which will commence in Hyderabad, India, from Friday.

“Players are fully prepared to give their best and we did our best to train them to take on a tough challenge in a professional way,” the chief coach in a message made available here on Wednesday said.

“After going through intensive training at home the players are in excellent physical condition.

“Though the weather forecast seems unsatisfactory it will not affect team’s performance,” he hoped.

Pakistan will take on Oman in their opening match on Friday.

The manager further said the team pratised for two hours on Wednesday morning and carried out penalty-corner exercises.

He said the tournament would not be easy and all the matches were of equal importance.

The team management had set plans for each match.

“Our objective is to win the Cup and then continue our success to the ultimate objective of winning the Junior World Cup next year,” he concluded.—APP
