KARACHI, July 6: President of the Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has advised countrymen not to indulge in public discussion on sensitive issues in view of the situation obtaining in the country.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he cautioned that blowing sensitive issues out of proportion could help hostile foreign forces hatch conspiracies and execute their nefarious designs against the country.

He also advised all political parties to sit together and evolve a joint strategy to steer the country out of the prevailing economic turmoil.

He observed that Pakistan was again being pushed into the lap of the World Bank and IMF.

Shaikh Rashid also referred to the power crisis and load-shedding, and claimed that Wapda was avoiding to produce electricity to a full capacity fearing financial losses.

In reply to a question, the AML leader said that the issue of deposed judges’ reinstatement had hit snags and the major partners in the ruling coalition had failed to evolve a consensus.

He observed that they had fixed an increased number of judges but people were being kept uninformed about the judges’ tenure.—APP
