Police officials punished

ATTOCK, July 3: District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Raja awarded punishment to five police officials on the charges of misconducts and showing negligence.

According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the DPO demoted in charge Hattian police post Sub-Inspector (SI) Touraiz Khan to the rank of ASI for his alleged involvement in the atta smuggling activities, besides issuing a censure notice to him.

Head Constable Muhammad Asgher of the Hassanabdal police station has been retired because of his bad reputation. And, in charge Faqirabad checkpost SI Fateh Khan and SI Nazar Muhammad of Rangu police station have also been served censure notice on the charge of showing negligence in their duties.

Meanwhile, taking notice of the complaints of mushroom growth of illegal vehicle stands at Fateh Jhang, the DPO has directed the DSP Traffic Attock to probe the matter and submit report to his office.

The DPO said a crackdown had been launched in the district to curb drugs business and gambling.

The complaints in this regard were made to the DPO at an open meeting during his visit to the Fatehjang police station.
