KARACHI, July 2: A 17-member Sindh swimming squad led by the junior International Mazhar Naqvi left here on Wednesday to take part in the All Pakistan NWFP Governor’s Gold Cup Junior Swimming Championship for boys to be held in Peshawar from July 5 to 7.

Fifteen-year-old Mazhar has the honour of winning a silver medal at the Saarc Swimming competition held in Islamabad.

The team was finalised after a short training camp held at the Habib Public School pool here in Karachi.

The Sindh squad, pertaining to different age groups, comprises:

Under-12: Shahmir Babar, Ahmed Godil, Shahid Ali Hasan, Hamza Khalid and Raza Khalid.

Under-14: Sanjay Dawani, Safi-ur-Rehman, Syed Sameed Ali, Shahid Ali Khan, Hamza Hameed and Osama Rizvi

Under-16: Mazhar Naqvi (captain), Mustafa Naqvi, Aniq Anwer, Faiz Khalil, Amir Raja and Huzaifa Feroz.

Ahmed Hassan (manager) and Mohammad Tahir (coach) are the team officials.—APP
