KARACHI, July 2: A 35-year-old man was found dead and his wife unconscious in their flat in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. The body and the unconscious woman were shifted to the Jinnah Postgra-duate Medical Centre.

Sharea Faisal police said Far-zana, wife of victim Kashif, phoned his father early in the morning and told him that the couple had consumed a heavy dose of tranquilizers to kill themselves.

They said the victim’s relatives reached their flat and broke open the door to find the body and the unconscious woman. The police said victim Kashif was jobless for some time. Earlier, he was employed at a garments factory.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old girl committed suicide in Orangi Town. The body of Mariam, daughter of Islam Khan, was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where sources said the victim consumed poison.

The police said the girl took insecticide incidentally.
