QUETTA, July 1: Power supply to Mastung, Kalat and Quetta was suspended after a pylon of the 132-KV Quetta-Mastung transmission line in the Mianghundi area was blown up.

A spokesman for the Quetta Electric Supply Company (Qesco) said some people planted high explosives under the pylon and blew it up early in the morning.

The power supply was restored in Quetta, but remained suspended in other areas. Engineers and staff of Qesco, the spokesman said, were working to replace the damaged pylon.
