ISLAMABAD, June 21: The International Islamic University (IIU) and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen academic cooperation between them, a press release said.

The document was inked by AIT President Prof Said Irandoust and IIU President Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Irandoust said: “The MoU would open ways of cooperation in research and education among the two leading institutions of Asia.”

He appreciated the role of the International Islamic University in promoting quality education, and also expressed his happiness over speedy expansion of the university, which now had a student population of over 14,000 out of which 5,000 were female.
