ISLAMABAD, June 20: National swimmers Kiran Khan and Adil Baig have been given wild-card entry to represent Pakistan in the Beijing Olympics.

The names of the two swimmers were announced by the Pakistan Swimming Federation at the Jinnah Stadium here on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Kiran told Dawn she would try to give her best at the Beijing Olympics.

“I have won 10 national events and will try my best to win medal for the country,” said the emerging female swimmer.

“I am being trained by my father for the major event,” Kiran added.

Adil Baig, holder of individual record of 56.2 sec in 100-metre free style, said: “I am happy to be part of the Pakistan Olympic contingent and put in all efforts to improve my timings in the historic event.”
