KARACHI, June 12: A gang of five bandits was busted by personnel of the Shamim Shaheed police post on Thursday.

Police said the suspects Abdul Wahid alias Wahid (ringleader), Sibghatullah, Jamaluddin, Abdul Qayyum and Sabir were involved in looting bus passengers.

Three TT pistols, two daggers and a dozen snatched mobile phones were seized from the gang.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested two street criminals at Sohrab Goth on Thursday.

On a tip-off, an SIT Zone East team raided a locality in Sohrab Goth area and arrested Moosa Khan and his brother, Dilawar.

Police said that Moosa Khan was involved in cases of heinous crime, including murders, drug trafficking and dacoities.

His other brothers were also involved in criminal activities, they said.

Another police team arrested a suspect, Sher Mohammad alias Kochi, in Malir City and recovered from his possession a TT pistol. Police said he was involved in street crimes.

Robbers nabbed

Three bandits were nabbed while they were busy robbing passengers of a coach on Hub River Road on Thursday.

Saeedabad police said that five snatched cell-phones, Rs1,040 cash and three TT pistols were recovered from their possession. The suspects were later identified as Shah Hussain, Ayaz and Abdul Latif.

In the limits of Taimuria police station, people caught two suspected bandits and handed over them to the police.—Agencies
