KARACHI, June 6: Nazimabad Gymkhana overwhelmed Pakistan Cricket Club by 12 runs in an exciting encounter to qualify for the KCCA Inter-club Cricket Championship semi-finals at the KCCA Stadium on Thursday.

Farhan Iqbal cracked 67 with the help of two fours and three sixes while Zakir Khan made 40 with five boundaries as Nazimabad Gymkhana mustered 210 for eight in their stipulated 40 overs.

Pakistan CC, in reply, were bowled out for 198 in 39 overs. Leg-spinner Raza-ul-Hasan captured three wickets for 35.

In another match played at the Baqai Ground, Baqai Cricket Club defeated Rangers Gymkhana by three wickets thanks to a fine all-round show by Ahmer Saeed.

Ahmer grabbed three wickets for 27 as Rangers Gymkhana, batting first, were restricted to 171-8 in the allotted 40 overs. Sanaullah (48) emerged as the highest scorer.

In response Baqai CC reached the target in 32.4 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Ahmer struck a match-winning 55 studded with six strikes to the boundary.
