QUETTA, June 5: Activists of the All Parties Democratic Movement, Government Teachers Association, All Pakistan Clerks Association, labour organisations, paramedical staff and members of civil society will join the lawyers’ long march in Islamabad on June 12.

This was announced by Balochistan Bar Association president Baz Mohammad Kakar after a meeting here on Thursday.

Mr Kakar told newsmen that Dr Hayee Baloch of the National Party, Habib Jalib Baloch of Balochistan National Party-Mengal, Usman Kakar of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Ayaz Swati of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Umar Khan of Terik-i-Insaaf and representatives of labour organisations attended the meeting.

Mr Kakar said that lawyers and activists would leave Quetta on June 11 to join the long march in Islamabad instead of in Multan on June 10.

He said the meeting decided that lawyers and APDM activists would take out a procession in Quetta on Saturday to mobilise the people to support the march.

Meanwhile, lawyers boycotted court proceedings in the city and district headquarters of Balochistan on Thursday.
