Haroon to lead Sindh team

KARACHI, June 5: Haroon Khan will lead Sindh team in the Inter-provincial basketball championship being held at Lahore from June 10 to 14. The team was named after open trials held at the KBBC court, Arambagh, under floodlights.

According to secretary, Sindh Amateur Basketball Association (SABA), former international Abdul Nasir, the team will leave for Lahore on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Nasir who is also secretary of Karachi City District Amateur Basketball Association (KCDABA) also named Karachi team for the Inter-district youth basketball championship which takes place at Mirpur Khas from June 6 to 8.

The team leaves for Mirpurkhas by road on Friday.

Teams: Sindh squad: Haroon Khan (captain), S. Shabbar, M. Jamil, Mohammad Khurram, Agha Ibrahim, Sultan Habib, Mohammad Akmal, Abdullah (all from Karachi), Farhan Khan, Waseemur Rehman (Hyderabad), Arshad Saeed (Sukkur) and Ghulam Abbas (Mirpur Khas).

Stand-byes: Aftab Ahmed and Areeb Qureshi. Officials: Abdul Nasir (manager), Tariq Hussain (coach) and Mohammad Jawaid (assistant coach).

Karachi squad: Mohammad Kamran (captain), Mohammad Sajid, Zainul Abedin, Mohammad Azeem, Mohammad Rafiq, Arsalan Khan, Raheel, S. Adnan Ali, Aftab Ahmed, Habibullah Khan, Mohammad Umair and Mohammad Arsalan.

Officials: Khalilur Rehman (manager) and Aamir Sharif (coach).
