QUETTA, June 5: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court on Thursday issued a notice to the interior ministry on a petition of Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti requesting that his name be taken off the Exit Control List (ECL).

The bench comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani summoned the interior secretary on June 9.

The petitioner said that he was suffering from pain in the backbone and neck and doctors had advised him to go to the United States for treatment, but he could not proceed because his name was on the ECL.

He said that his bank account had been frozen on the directives of the federal government and requested the court to order the bank to let him use his account.
