TOBA TEK SINGH, June 3: Two robbers shot dead a trader on resistance while one of them was killed in firing by police and villagers in Kamalia on Tuesday afternoon.

Reports said two robbers riding a motorcycle came to the shop of Mian Abdul Sattar at grain market and demanded cash and valuables.

Abdul Sattar offered resistance on which they opened fire, killing him on the spot. His servant Talib chased the robbers who opened fire, injuring him critically.

In the meantime, a police party and some villagers started chasing the robbers. During half an hour armed clash, one of the robbers, Zar Wakeel Khan of Mardan, (NWFP) was killed while the other managed his escape.

Some years ago, Zar Wakeel Khan had worked as a security guard at Kamalia grain market.
