Naveed included as AT member

LAHORE, June 2: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has included Mohammad Naveed Chaudhry as a member of the appellate tribunal in place of Salman Taseer, who has resigned from the tribunal, reviewing the appeal of fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar against a five-year ban imposed on him.

The tribunal headed by Justice (retd) Aftab Farrukh, having another member, former Test cricketer Haseeb Ahsan, will resume the hearing from June 8.

Naveed, a professional lawyer, has been a member of the Punjab local Government Commission (2003-08) and information secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party, Punjab.

Salman is also a leader of the PPP and it seems he recommended the name of Naveed as his replacement.
