Police smash gang of kidnappers

SIALKOT, May 29: The Sambrial police claimed on Thursday to have smashed a gang of kidnappers.

Sialkot DPO Muhammad Ameen told newsmen that Sharjeel, Ahmad Mujtaba, Shahid, Arsalan, Hassan and Mansoor were wanted by the Sialkot, Sambrial, Gujrat, Wazirabad and the NWFP police in more than two dozen cases of kidnap for ransom, murder and robberies.

The gangsters had recently kidnapped for ransom Sambrial’s landlord Javed Iqbal Ghumman who secured release by paying Rs1.6 million ransom. A case was registered against the gangsters.
