KARACHI, May 28: A coach was set on fire by an enraged mob following an accident on Sharea Faisal on Wednesday morning.

Two brothers, Kashif and Arif, were on a motorcycle when it rammed into a coach. Arif got injured in the accident. His brother who lodged an FIR at Sharea Faisal police station said that the driver of coach suddenly applied brakes which caused the collision.

Quoting eyewitnesses, however, a duty officer of the Sharae Faisal police station said that the coach was in stationary when the accident occurred. The onlookers said that a few motorcyclists set ablaze the coach after the accident.

The city police chief, who reportedly was taking a round of the area, also visited the spot and inquired about the incident.

Bodies recovered

The bodies of two unidentified men were found in different parts of the city early Wednesday morning.

Police said that the body of a young man was found in Yousaf Goth, Baldia Town. The victim, who could not be identified, was apparently tortured to death. Police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.

In Korangi No 1-1/2, the body of a 25-year-old man was found in a narrow ally. Police said apart from a bruise on the hand there was no apparent torture mark on the body. The body was taken to the JPMC.

Meanwhile, police held two robbers in Lyari.

The suspects had snatched Rs10,000 from Asghar Khan on Fida Husain Road in Kalri police limits. A police mobile patrolling the area was informed about it immediately after the incident. Police chased the suspects and apprehended them. They were identified as Taj Muhammad and Sajid. Police also claimed the recovery of two pistols and the snatched cash from their possession.
