SUKKUR, May 27: A kidnapped truck driver and a cleaner were recovered by police from Kutcha Area of Kashmore on Tuesday.

Driver Asif Ali Unnar and cleaner Zameer Unnar were on way to Shikarpur from Kashmore when kidnapped by dacoits.

Sources said police cordoned of the area on a tip off upon which dacoits opened fire which was retaliated by policemen. Dacoits escaped after a brief encounter leaving behind their hostages.

ACCIDENTS: A boy was killed in a road accident, near Karampur on Tuesday.

Twelve-year-old Karim Bux was driving a motorcycle when run over by a speedy trailer and died on the spot. Area police impounded the trailer but the driver escaped.

In another accident, a man was killed and another injured at Rohri bypass on Monday night.

Two men Suraj Mal and Abdul Majeed were on way to Rohri town in a pick-up when hit by the speedy truck coming from opposite direction near the bypass.

Both received serious injuries and were rushed to the Civil Hospital, Sukkur where Suraj Mal 60 died.

The truck driver fled from the scene along with the truck.
