Ribery voted best player

BERLIN, May 26: France midfielder Franck Ribery was voted Bundesliga player of the year in a poll of 268 league players published in Kicker newspaper on Monday.

Ribery won 57.8 per cent of the vote, well ahead of his Bayern Munich team-mate Luca Toni of Italy, the league’s leading scorer, who came in second place with 24.8 per cent. Werder Bremen’s Brazilian midfielder Diego was third with 8.5 percent.—Reuters
