JACOBABAD, May 26: A railways station master was kidnapped in the Abad area of Jacobabad district on Monday.

A gang of dacoits after storming the Abad railway station held seven employees at gunpoint and kidnapped five from among them including Station Master Muzaffar Hussain Arain, and four low-grade workers.

Staff informed the SP Railways Choudhry Aslam, while Abad police informed the DPO Jacobabad Saqib Ismail Memon. Both the officers along with heavy police contingents reached the place of incident and followed dacoits.

Dacoits after covering some distance freed four employees at Jagan Road while taking away with them Station Master Muzaffar Hussain Arain to unknown place. Muzaffar Hussain is resident of Sadiqabad Punjab.

Earlier, another station master, Nizamuddin, and point-man Tariq Ali were kidnapped on April 29. The railway police with the help of regular police secured the release of Ali on May 11 and of Nizamuddin on last Sunday.

In another incident, a truck driver and a cleaner were kidnapped on Indus Highway in the jurisdiction of Kashmore police.

Trucks, passenger coaches and wagons blocked the road. Traffic was stuck on the highway. After five hours of talks with DPO, protesters cleared the road.—BoC
