HYDERABAD, May 22: Social activist Abdul Sattar Edhi has condemned the burning of dacoits and said that people should fight those who are producing dacoits.

He was speaking to journalists on Thursday at Ghera Basti in Bohri compound -- a settlement of nomads -- which was gutted by fire a couple of days ago and people lost everything. Mr Edhi distributed relief goods worth Rs1,520,000 among the victims.

“These dacoits and robbers are citizens of this country and it is poverty which produces dacoits,” he said while referring to the recent incidents of burning dacoits in Karachi and Lahore.

He said that feudal lords and capitalists were looting the country and none of them had contributed to development.
