Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, May 19: Seven ships carrying rock phosphate, chemicals and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active as over a dozen ships including cement loaders, Pacific Arrow, Langford, Valbellam and Wilson to unload imported wheat were berthed after the departure of as many.

The departing ships were led by Oel Trust, Oel Mumbai, Creek, Singa Ace, Lucky Arrow, Gemini, Orient Stride, Sima Sahba, Ahmad Junior, Tai Rong-7, Meg, Johar and Fructidor.

A total tonnage of 262,000 tons comprising 97,220 tons of export tonnage, notably cement and clinkers, and 165,000 tons of import tonnage was handled during the last two days.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Rising Om with base oil, Moyra and Royal Imperial with chemicals, Seven Sons Aurora, APL Cairo and As Mars with containers and Ken Blossom with 37,557 tons of phosphate.
