VEHARI, May 16: A five-year-old girl who was injured in traffic accident succumbed to her wounds in DHQ Hospital due to alleged negligence of duty doctor who pronounced her dead much earlier than her clinical death and abandoned her treatment.

Saima of Chak 56/WB fainted after being injured in road accident on Friday. Her family took her to the emergency of DHQ Hospital where duty doctor, Dr Anwer, pronounced her dead.

Her family claimed that a few minutes later, Saima’s heart started beating again but the duty doctors and paramedical staffers did not attend to her properly owing to which she died.

The family has protested the negligence of medical staffers and demanded an inquiry into the matter. However, Dr. Anwer denied the allegations and said that he examined the victim carefully.
