KESC reach semis

KARACHI, May 14: Defending champions Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) defeated Dewan Farooq Motors by 13 runs to qualify for the Hinopak Trophy KCCA Inter-departmental league tournament semi-finals at the KCCA Stadium on Tuesday.

Batting first, the KESC posted 247 for nine due to fine efforts by Danial Ahsan 66 and Akber Rehman 54. In pursuit of the target, Dewan Farooq made 234 for nine. Nawaid Khan with 60 and Farrukh Rizvi with 57 were the main scorers.

The KESC will now meet Pakistan Navy in the first semi-final on Thursday at the KCCA Stadium.—Agencies
