3 killed as rival groups clash

GUJAR KHAN, May 9: Three persons including a woman lost their lives while 11 others were injured in a clash between two rival groups in Naban Janjuha village in the jurisdiction of Jatli police station on Friday evening.

According to the local sources, two rival groups developed dispute over common trees in the village and resorted to firing.

During the firing two persons Mehrban Khan, 55, and Mst Hameeda Bibi, 40, received bullets and killed on the spot while 12 sustained serious injuries and were shifted to rural health centre Daultala. Among them Mohammad Shoaib, 17, died of injuries in the hospital.

The heirs of the injured complained that the medical officer on duty could not turn up to attend to the victims for at least two hours.

The injured include Qaisar Mahmood, Nadeem Ahmed, Mohammad Ishaq, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Tasleem Akhtar, and Mohammad Jawaid.
