JACOBABAD, May 8: Rains and hailstorm hit different parts of upper Sindh on Wednesday night.

Due to the heavy downpour several electricity polls fell which injured five people in Ali Mohammad Khoso village near Kandhkot, on Wednesday night.

Reports said that due to the rains power supply remained suspended for three hours when several electricity polls fell down.

An electric poll fell on a house resulting serious injuries to the owner, Wahid Bux Sabzoi, his wife Bakhtawar, his two daughters Manzooran, Waderi, and his son Ghulam Hyder, who have been admitted to Ghouspur Hospital where their condition is said to be out of danger.

Khairpur city and other parts of district Khairpur have also been hit by rain with hailstorm.Signboards of shops in Shahi bazaar and other trade centres have been uprooted, while youngsters enjoyed the rain.

The rain and hail have affected mango and date palm orchards, however, the banana growers have expressed joy over the rain as it would prove a boon to banana plantations.
