NAWABSHAH, Oct 23: The Nawabshah police have arrested a man who by misusing the name of Sindh governor has looted several government officials.

Manzoor Chandio, resident of Nawabshah, looted many government officials by misusing the name of Governor Mohammedmian Soomro.

During initial investigation he confessed that he talked to DCO Nawabshah by telephone and told him that he was the brother of the Sindh governor and was calling from Karachi.

He asked the DCO to go to a village and meet Manzoor Chandio who had deer and make necessary arrangements to send those deer to the Governor House, Karachi.

DCO Nawabshah directed the DDO who went to village Chanesar and met Manzoor Chandio who asked him that he should make transport arrangements for sending those deer to Karachi or otherwise pay the transportation charges.

The DDO paid him Rs4000 cash.

In the same way, Chandio called DSP Sakrand while claiming to be personal secretary of the governor.

He asked the DSP to arrange the transportation of deer to the Governor House but DSP refused.

Then Chandio called DIG Sukkur range and told him about the refusal of the DSP.

The DIG did not believe him and directed the officials of SP Nawabshah office to trace the person who was later on traced through his telephone number which appeared on the CLI, and was arrested.

SSP Nawabshah Khamiso Khan Memon told this correspondent that the accused was doing this for a long time and had many illegal works done by cheating officials.

He said that further investigations are underway.
