KARACHI, May 4: Owner Kamal Farooq won a lion’s share, a treble in a card of five, in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

He had bought the three form horses — King Of Cool, Hinglachi and Tyre Jee — recently and they all did him proud for the first time. This was followed by facilitations galore from the racing fraternity.

Filly Fantastic Baby owned by the same owner had achieved a milestone of six wins on the trot, which is a new course record.

Trainer Tanveer Abbasi also shared the joyous moment as his hard work brought fruitful results in the success of the three horses so does jockey Mohammad Essa who stormed home a back-to-back double (King Of Cool and Hinglachi) and rider Ghulam Shabbir II (who rode Tyre Jee).

Fresh from three successive wins, favourite colt Tyre Jee stretched his winning run galloping to a facile nine-and-a-half length’s victory over chestnut Desert Hawk to land the feature event.

Debutant colt Bam Bamm settled for third, finishing seven lengths behind, while colt Legend Of Arab completed the board among five runners following the withdrawal of Lady Conqueror.

In a late burst, joint favourite chestnut King Of Cool came from behind to outpace bay Bharosa by three lengths. Co-favourite Dr Dang failed to finish on the board.

King Of Cool had beaten Dr Dang by one-and-a-half lengths in the last outing but the race was cancelled following an outburst by the racegoers.

Three-year-old chestnut colt Hinglachi registered his maiden victory beating filly Baby John by two lengths.

The opener ended in a blaze of glory for the second favourite, the four-year-old bay colt Spider Man, who edged the joint favourite mare Marista by five lengths.

Four-year-old bay colt Spirit Of Arab claimed the fourth race by getting the better of the joint favourite mare Blind Date by five lengths.

Blind Date must be cursing herself for the defeat due to the inefficient handling by her rider Lateef.
