MULTAN, May 3: Islamabad and Lahore are witnessing four-hour loadshedding a day, while areas from Pakpattan to Rajanpur are suffering from 16-hour loadshedding, Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa said here on Saturday, adding he would ask the prime minister and the water and power minister to adopt a uniform policy on outages in upper and southern Punjab.

Speaking to reporters at the residence of former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senator Malik Muhammad Rafiq Rijwana, the chief minister said the corruption of nazims would be made public.

He said the government had stopped work on all development projects, which had not been initiated so far or those on which only 10 per cent work had been done.

He said the government would not ‘waste’ money on the construction of roads leading to nazims’ residences.

Separately, Governor Khalid Maqbool visited the Bahauddin Zakariya University and Multan Public School on Saturday. During the visit, Maqbool said the Punjab government provided BZU Rs400 million during the ongoing fiscal year, adding the university would be given Rs500 million more for development work in the coming year.
