RAWALPINDI, May 3: The special task force on education has started a survey in Rawalpindi district to assess and evaluate the needs of schools and to provide missing facilities to the institutions.

Work in this regard has been completed in the constituency NA-56.

This was stated by chairman of the task force Mohammad Hanif Abbasi, MNA, while speaking as chief guest at a certificate and prize distribution ceremony held at Government Shimla Islamia High School Satellite Town on Saturday.

Mr Abbasi said the survey had been started on the special instructions of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif.

He said the report completed in NA-56 had been submitted to the PML-N president for further action.

Besides other members of the task force, MPA Raja Hanif Abbasi, college principal Nasreen Manzoor, teachers, a large number of schoolchildren and their parents attended the ceremony.

The principal of the school said the institution lacked classrooms, teachers and other necessary facilities.

She said to overcome the shortage of classrooms some temporary rooms had been built with tin sheets to accommodate the students.

The chairman of the task force announced to upgrade the school to higher level, saying a separate primary block would be built on the premises equipped with all the basic facilities.

He said out of the 26 primary schools in his constituency 13 were located in rented buildings, while those having own buildings lacked facilities.—APP
