ISLAMABAD, April 29: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Rehmatullah Kakar on Tuesday asked his ministry and attached departments to give preference to people of low income groups in allotment of plots and houses.

He was speaking at a briefing by the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation at the ministry. Director-general of the foundation Shahid Hameed briefed him on housing schemes launched in Islamabad, Karachi and Peshawar for government employees.

The minister also urged the authorities concerned to step up efforts for the development of the Regi Lalma Model Town Scheme in Peshawar. He said there should be complete transparency in developing these schemes.
