A blissful coincidence!

MIANWALI, April 27: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani has said that it is a blissful coincidence that he is inaugurating the Trauma Centre of the Mianwali DHQ Hospital the foundation stone of which had been laid down by his late father in 1955.

The prime minister said his father Syed Alamdar Hussain was the then provincial health minister.

He lauded the efforts of PPP former senator Ghulam Akbar Khawaja for providing funds to build Sakina Gynecology Hospital and an academic block at the Government Girls College, Mianwali.

The prime minister also announced a grant of Rs30 million for the DHQ Hospital aside from approving gas for the Piplan tehsil. He also directed to provide jobs to unskilled labour of the district in nuclear power projects at Chashma.

Earlier, Ghulam Akbar Khawaja briefed the prime minister that Rs5.813 million were spent on the construction of 24-bed Trauma Center. Federal Education Minister Ahsan Iqbal also accompanied the prime minister.

MNAs Humair Hayat Rokhri, Malik Amad Khan, four MPAs and District Nazim Obaidullah Shadikhel were also present on the occasion.

The prime minister later flew to Kalabagh for the lunch hosted in his honour by MNA Nawabzada Malik Amad Khan. He also met different delegates there and promised to provide gas to Isakhel. — Correspondent
