KARACHI, April 25: Intermediate class examinations would commence from May 3, with Pre-engineering group papers first, said the BIE Controller of Examinations, Prof Amjad Ali, on Thursday.

He said that Pre-medical and Pre-engineering groups examinations would be held separately in two shifts. The Pre- engineering examinations would commence on May 3, with Geology-I paper in the afternoon shift, while Pre-medical group examinations would start from May 7, with Chemistry-I paper in the morning shift.

Timings for the morning shift examinations would remain from 10am to 1 pm, while the afternoon or evening shift examinations would be conducted from 3pm to 6pm. In the first phase, examinations of Pre-engineering and Pre-medical, Home Economics and Commerce (regular) group examinations would be conducted, while the second phase for Commerce (private) and Arts (regular and private) groups would commence in the first week of June.

It was said that Home Economics examinations would commence on May 3 in the morning shift, with Principle of Economics-I/Commercial Economics-I (Old course) papers. The Pre- engineering, Pre-medical, Commerce (regular) and Home Economics groups examinations would conclude on May 29, May 24, May 28 and May 21, respectively.

The Controller said that admits cards were already being distributed among students through their respective colleges, while the detailed marks sheets would be available at colleges for students from April 27.
