JACOBABAD, April 25: A complete shutter down strike was observed in Badani and a demonstration was held in Kandhkot on Friday in protest against the killing of a minor girl.

On Thursday night some people killed the six-year-old girl after cutting her ears only to take her gold earrings. The barbaric people strangled the minor girl to death.

The incident took place in Badani Eidgah lane. Six-year-old Saima, daughter of Dalil Sangi, went to buy toffees from a shop in morning and when she did not return home after a long time, the family members started searching her.

Later, some people at a local mosque informed the parents of the girl about her body which was found from the mosque. The corpse was shifted to Kandhkot and Kashmore hospitals for post-mortem but due to non-availability of a lady doctor, it was handed over to her parents.

The mother of the girl fell unconscious when she saw her daughter’s body. On Friday, some area people staged a protest demonstration by placing the body of minor girl on tower road Kandhkot. They raised slogans against the doctors and police.

Her body was taken to Kandhkot in a caravan of cars, jeeps and other vehicles. The protesters also staged a sit-in on the road for two hours, suspending the vehicular traffic. They protested against the doctors who did not conduct post-mortem of the girl.

Police have lodged a case on the complaint of the father.
