DADU, April 24: Police have swung into action to recover three traders and a landlord who were kidnapped from Khairpur Nathan Shah and Johi after intervention of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Shah, well informed sources told Dawn.

The chief minister has taken notice of the kidnapping in Dadu after a delegation of the PPP minority wing and traders led by Dileep Kumar and Sindh Minority Affairs Minister Dr Diya Ram met him and sought his assistance for quick recovery of their community members.

Anil Kumar, Sunny Kumar and Ashwani Kumar were kidnapped from near Khairpur Nathan Shah while delivering marriage ceremony invitation cards of Anil Kumar at least 12 days ago.

Besides, the Johi police have also miserably failed to recover landlord Tasawur Hussain Pathan, who was kidnapped few days back.

When contacted, District Police Officer Manzoor Hussain Katian said that he was personally overseeing recovery operation of the traders and the landlord and claimed that they would be recovered in 24 hours. In this regard, he said, two teams were constituted which were working round the clock.

The teams headed by TPO Headquarters, Mohammad Hassan Mallah, picked up 25 suspects in Bothro village on Thursday. However, it yielded no result as the police are still groping in the dark.

Meanwhile, Jamshoro police have failed to recover one hostage, Faiz Hussain Narejo, kidnapped from the Sindh University Colony a few days ago.
