KARACHI, April 23: Three suspects allegedly involved in the murder of a seminary teacher in Malir have been arrested, police claimed on Wednesday.

A team of Saudabad police signalled five suspected to stop. However, they opened fire on the team.

The police claimed that fire was returned and after the encounter, three of them were overpowered.

The arrested suspects were identified as Munna alias Anwar Raza, Mohammad Hanif, Jibran and Fahad. The fourth one managed to escape. He was later identified as Azhar.

The police said Hanif, Munna and Azhar were wanted in the murder of Mufti Saeedur Rehman, who was shot dead during a robbery bid on April 14. —PPI
