THATTA, April 22: While dissolving the board of Sindhi Language Authority (SLA), Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Sassui Palijo said here on Monday that more efficient, impartial and energetic people will be nominated in the new board to achieve maximum results and render true service on the subject.

Speaking at a press conference here at circuit house Makli she said that it was being considered to disband all sort of the committees constituted by the culture department and form more effective ones to yield positive results.

Ms Palijo said her predecessors involved those people on culture wing who did not know even the exact meaning of culture and heritage.

Praising the unparallel love and sympathies of late Benazir Bhutto with the common men, Ms Sassui said it was due to the exclusive sacrifices of Bhuttos that she and her colleagues have been entrusted power and pledged that she would quit the ministry if failed to deliver accordingly.

The provincial minister for culture said that a programme had been chalked out to make the cultural sites a real attraction and for that purpose the government would take concrete steps to maintain law and order, construct pukka roads and invite private sector to develop these sites.

The minister announced a literary conference on May 10 in Thatta and said intellectuals, writers and poets from throughout the province would be invited to attend the conference.

Earlier, she was accorded a warm welcome on her arrival following taking oath as minister at Gaggar Phatak. Hundreds of jubilant party activists brought her in a big motorcade and she addressed at Gharo, Gujjo and Thatta town.

At Thatta, the minister said she was worried about the worsening law and order situation in her home district. She warned the officers to perform their duties honestly and render maximum services to the people.
