PAF thrash Punjab

ISLAMABAD, April 21: Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Police ‘A’ Wapda ‘A’ and Pakistan Navy ‘B’ qualified for the quarterfinal round in the first National men’s Sand Volleyball championship played at Pakistan Sports Complex on Monday.

In the opening match Pakistan Air Force (PAF) outclassed Punjab ‘B’ 21-8.

It was Muhammad Ismail Khan’s, PAF, excellent smashes which gave an edge against Punjab ‘B’.

In the second fixture it was an excellent defense and block by Police ‘A’ defense player, Hafiz Amjad, leaving Pakistan Navy helpless as they clinched the game 21-17.

Wapda ‘A’ showed their best and won the important match against NWFP 21-16, in the third encounter.

In the other matches Pakistan Navy ‘B’ outclassed AJK by 21-8, POF beat Wapda (B) by 21-13, Police ‘B’ thrashed HEC by 21-17, PAF beat Sindh by 21-12, Wapda ‘A’ thrashed Punjab ‘A’ by 21-15 and Police (A) beat Navy (B) by 21-16.
