MARDAN, April 21: Two guards of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz provincial vice president and former NWFP information minister, Abdul Subhan Khan, were killed when unidentified armed men opened fire at his vehicle here on Monday.

The PML-N leader and his two other guards also received serious bullet injuries in the attack.

Abdul Subhan was on his way from his village Garyala to participate in the funeral of his relative at Shahdand Baba when unidentified attackers targeted his vehicle. As a result his two gunmen identified as Fayyaz and Akbar died on the spot, while Abdul Subhan himself and his two other guards identified as Israr and Ikhtyar received bullet injuries.

Abdul Subhan and his two injured guards were taken to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, in critical condition.
