KARACHI: Bandits kill conductor

KARACHI, April 24: Armed bandits shot dead a minibus conductor in Orangi Town on Tuesday night.

Police said that unknown armed men boarded a minibus (Z-22) in sector 13, near Allahwala College, Orangi Town. As the minibus conductor, Abdul Hakim, aged 21, tried to resist them, the bandits opened fire at him and escaped with the cash collected from the passengers.

The victim was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the medicolegal officer. Following the killing of the minibus conductor, people of the area tried to register their protest on Wednesday morning. However, police intervened and dispersed the crowd on.

KILLED: A man was killed over a petty dispute in Quaidabad on Wednesday.

Police said that Jabbar Shah, a former army man, shot and injured Rehman Shah in New Muzzafarabad Colony, Quaidabad, and escaped.

Police said that Jabbar Shah had became enraged over a fight among children which took place in the morning. Furious over the fight, Jabbar Shah went to the house of Rehman. As Rehman Shah opened the door, he opened fire and escaped.

The victim was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he died during treatment, police said.
