SHEIKHUPURA, April 16: Six people, including two women, were injured when two bogies of Shakargarh-bound

119-Up passenger train from Lahore derailed near Kala Khatai on Wednesday morning.

Sources said that the accident occurred due to a technical fault, causing a traffic suspension for around three hours. A rescue train rushed to the scene and restored the track.

DACOITY: Around a dozen dacoits barged into Sheikh Iqbal Plastic Factory on Jaranwala Road near Nain Sukh on Wednesday, took the staff on gunpoint and fled after collecting valuables and cash worth Rs2.5 million. The Shahdara Town police are investigating.

SIKH PILGRIMS: Around 2,000 Sikh yatrees (pilgrims) belonging to Pakistan, India and some other countries reached Gurdwara Sacha Sauda, near Farooqabad, some 16-kilometre away from here, on Wednesday. Later, they performed their religious rites amid tight security.

Sardar Balder Singh, who is heading the pilgrims group, said that the Sikh community wanted developing cordial relations with Pakistan and dissolving all disputes amicably.

Singh appreciated the hospitality offered by the people and government of Pakistan and thanked them for extending a warm welcome to the pilgrims in Pakistan.
