Love birds commit suicide

SIALKOT, April 16: Two lovers committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills after they were not allowed to marry each other in Sirraanwali-Satrah village of Daska tehsil on Wednesday.

Noureena, 17, and Zafar, 24, had an affair and wanted to tie the knot, but their parents did not agree. On this, they ended their lives by swallowing poisonous pills together.

Their bodies were found in a deserted rice mill in the village.

Separately, an issueless man and his wife died the same day after spending “almost four decades together” in Nawaan-Satrah village of Daska tehsil.

“Ninety-year-old” Muhammad Ali died on Tuesday after a protracted illness, while his 60-year-old wife Kaneez Fatima breathed her last mourning her husband’s death. They were buried on Wednesday morning.
