KARACHI, April 23: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has selected Pakistan to organize first sports related ‘Team Physician Course’, here on May 9, 10 and 11.

About 10 countries are expected to participate in the course, according to president of Sports Medicines Association of Pakistan (SMAP), Dr Nishat Mallick.

At a press briefing Tuesday, Dr Mallick said that IOC selected Pakistan on behalf of Pakistan Olympic Association (POA). The SMAP will conduct the course as the association has vast experience in this regard.

He further said that IOC modified sports medicines course in the name of team Physician course which now would be made a regular feature.

Laters to Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Wapda, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Police and PIA and other sports departments of various institutions have been sent for participation.

“The course would be restricted to 50 participants so that they could attend the course with peace of mind and communicate to each other easily,” he said, adding that four international speakers including himself will give the lectures on the topic of Team Physician Course.—PPI
