Published April 16, 2008

LARKANA, April 15: Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that PPP remained in the opposition during the past five years and played its positive role for democracy and hoped that MQM will also show the same spirit so that the democratic system in the country is further strengthened.

He was answering media persons’ questions after offering fateha at the graves of founder-chairman of PPP Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and slain chairperson of PPP, Benazir Bhutto along with a large number of party leaders and workers in Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto on Tuesday.

He said the law and order will be maintained so as to safeguard the lives, property and honour of the people at grassroots level.

He said in this regard administrative changes have started and some transfer and postings will be made in public interest.

He said a sad incident occurred in Karachi on April 9 which was a result of administrative weakness. The new IG had been posted only to maintain law and order in a proper way.—APP
