PESHAWAR, April 15: The court of the district and sessions judge here on Tuesday ordered registration of an FIR against two police officers for keeping a woman in illegal confinement and torturing her during custody.

The police were reportedly reluctant to register an FIR and the court had accepted an application of the victim in this regard. The court ordered the local police to register the case against assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Hassan Waqas and station house officer (SHO) Zarwali Khan.

The woman was recovered from the women police station when a bailiff raided the place on the orders of the district and sessions judge last year.
