Candyland win bridge competition

KARACHI, April 14: Candyland won the Super Marathon bridge tournament by defeating Data Steel in the final at the Aslam Bridge Hall on Sunday evening.

The winning team comprised captain Mohammad Ismail, Ziaullah Baig, Hamed Mohiuddin, Khaled Mohiuddin and Mubashir Puri. They raised their score to 37 as against 17 Imps of Data Steel.

Tariq Rasheed, Rashidul Ghazi, Tehsin Gheewala, Hasan Akhtar, M.A. Ansari and Ghufran Ashraf represented Data Steel.

Candyland pocketed cash prize of Rs25,000 by winning the competition.

In the match for third place, Solox made an easy run against Four Bidders.

With Gulzar Bilal, Ghulam Mohammad, Anwer Kemal, Jamal Nizami and Wajahat Suri in their fold, Solox displayed remarkable performance against Four Bidders which had the services of Ameer Hasan, Irfan Saadat, Tariq Zafar, Tanvir Mazahir and Farhat Abbas.Solox returned with seven Imps in the first, 18 in the second and 22 in the third segments to claim the third place.—APP
