KARACHI, April 13: Second best five-year-old dark bay mare Janu Love Inshu lived up to her billing when she eased to a magnificent five lengths victory following withdrawal of favourite filly Diamond In Dust in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

She crossed the finishing post well ahead of Desert Hawk with riding boy Irfan Shehwani in the saddle. Chestnut Good Hope and bay Rokara completed the board with former beating the latter by short head in a photo-finish verdict.

The triumph enabled the mare from the stables of Mrs. Zubaida Rehmat to make amends of the last weekend loss by the identical margin at the hands of Moon Baby.

Four-year-old bay colt Royal King galloped to three-quarter-of-a-length victory over bay Arab Hi Arab to land feature event.

Mare Voo Doo Doll and filly Moomal followed in the same order for the places after Sahibzadi was withdrawn reducing the field to five runners.

Outsider dark bay filly Baby John surprised all and sundry when she came from behind to edge bay Cash Deposit by three-quarter-of-a length.

Favourite colt Black Jack settled for third while Khyber completed the frame after three horses — Star Of Galaxy, Blind Date and debutant Coming Chandiwala — were withdrawn.

Filly Novaho’s Glory which was also opened favourite in the betting ring was not on job.

Fancied five-year-old chestnut Dr. Song was on song as he completed a hat trick posting a facile four-and-a-half lengths victory over bay Fascinate.

The horse which belonged to the stables of Syed Sadruddin Shah was piloted home by Lateef.

Hamza Joy and Khan Jee overcame a bad patch by claiming their maiden races of the New Year.
