GUJRANWALA, April 13: Over 1,500 students of the Women Degree College, Kamoki, are forced to get education in the open due to the non-availability of furniture.

The college is already facing hosts of problems, including shortage of teachers and dearth of classrooms.

It is learnt that some 13 seats of lecturers are lying vacant while the sole English teacher is ‘handling’ the whole lot of students.

College principal Tanvir Fatima has demanded of the education department high-ups to equip the institution with the required number of teachers and the furniture.

CHECK POSTS: The food department has established five check posts in the district to check the flour smuggling aside from monitoring all sale points to ensure the provision of the commodity to the people.

This was stated by divisional deputy director (food) Ahmad Aziz Tarar while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of check posts on Sheikhupura Road here on Sunday.

He said that these check posts were set up at upper Chenab river bridge, Wazirabad; Kot Barar, Alipur Chattha Road; Kot Ladha; Baigpur, Sheikhupura Road; and Sadhoki. — Correspondent
