KARACHI, April 12: Four-year-old bay filly Diamond In Dust is on course to make it a two on trot should she win the fifth and supporting race in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

She came out with flying colours by posting a facile 11 length’s victory over Tube Jee last weekend with Ghulam Shabbir II astride. Her excellent form is a true yardstick and suggests that she should win again hands down. Her likely challengers are mare Janu Love Inshu and filly Leopard Of Arab.

If on job, three-year-old bay filly Moomal should make amends to land the days feature event. She has failed to come up to the expectations and was among those who also ran in the last five outings of the year.

She is drawn in a small field of six aspirants in the sixth and last race of the day to be run over six furlongs. She should be chased by Arab Hi Arab and Sahibzadi.

Three-year-old chestnut colt Star Of Galaxy is our fancy in the fourth race and poised to make it three-in-a-row by overcoming opponents particularly, Blind Date, who is aspiring for a fifth successive win.

There are 18 acceptors who are to vie for the honours in this race. Novaho’s Glory should follow the two for a place on the board.

Either of the two — colt Walayat or mare Royal Loyalty — saddled by trainer Talib Hussain, may land the opener provided they are tried. They should be followed by Shan-e-Awan and Champion Express.

Also in the run is the mare Make Millions who has come down in weight scale and if tried can beat the lot.

Five-year-old chestnut Dr Dang should present the KRC chairman, Syed Sadruddin Shah, with third successive winner in the second while colt Mushki should atone for the loss in the third race.
