LAHORE, April 11: District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood called on PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif at Model Town here on Friday.

The nazim briefed the PML-N president on progress on Ring Road and other development projects and steps being taken for the uplift of a model area in the provincial metropolis.

The nazim informed the PML-N president that the staff would be deputed to monitor sanitation arrangements and protection of plants in the model area.

He said those throwing garbage on roads would be prosecuted. Mr Mahmood said that most of development works were expected to be completed by Sunday evening.

He said that Tollinton Market Road linking Jail Road and Ferozepur Road was being rebuilt at a cost of Rs8 million. Public toilets will be built in Shadman Market aside from making arrangements for parking.

He further informed the PML-N president that Shadman to Shah Jamal Road was being rebuilt with a sum of Rs26.8 million.
